Introducing the New Target Kid Star: Ryan Langston

It isn’t every day that consumers view their favorite products or stores advertised with anything other than perfection: a model with the perfect body, the perfect hair, the perfect smile or an expensive item only few can afford. Maybe we should take a minute to review our definition of perfection because Target seems to have hit the nail on the head when it comes to the ideal image—a fun, loving, and beautiful boy who soaks up the spotlight and is changing the mindset of people across the world one advertisement at a time.

Ryan Langston, 6, has charisma, a Bieber-like haircut, and a contagious smile that has caught the eyes of the media and consumers across the world. There is only one thing that sets him apart from the other kid models seen on our favorite Target advertisements, Ryan has Down syndrome. The cute kid with blonde hair and blue eyes fits right in with the other 3 children also photographed in the Target ads.

Ryan’s parents are ecstatic about his ability to pose in front of a camera and feel no different than the other kids his age—this is how Ryan should feel. In an interview with NBC Nightly News, Ryan’s father Jim says, “the fact that they are not making a big deal—it’s ironic. It’s a big deal because they are not making a big deal about it,” he said.

Lindsay Davenport – It’s A Girl!

Tennis star, Lindsay Davenport, delivered a daughter on Monday 1/16/2012. Davenport announced via Twitter, “We are so excited to say our third child arrived this a.m., a big, beautiful, healthy baby girl … 10 lbs!!! Everyone is doing great.”


Davenport is married to Jonathan Leach. The couple also has two other children together. The new addition joins Lauren Andrus, 2 ½, and Jagger Jonathan, 4 ½.
The new born girls name has not yet been revealed.

 

Kelsey Grammer: Excited for Twins!

Kelsey Grammer and wife Kayte Walsh, 32, just announced yesterday, January 15th that they were expecting twins! Grammer, 56, told PEOPLE while backstage at the Golden Globe Awards, “I’m really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals.”

The news of twins came as a shock to the couple. On October 9th, 2010, Grammer announced that Walsh had miscarried. Though Grammer will be working double duty with his new additions, he could not be happier than to work twice as hard with a woman who has his heart. “Kayte is extraordinary,” he says. “She’s one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I’ve ever met. She’s funny and serious all at the same time. She’s an amazing person and I think she’ll blow the kids away.”

While talking about being a father to his new duo, Grammer stated, “Fatherhood’s always different, based upon the character(s) that come into your life. They arrive and tell you what you have to do.” This should be interesting for his fifth time around.

Their soon-to-be will be accompanied by Tracy’s first child, Sam, from her previous marriage to NBA all star Eric Anderson. Now-a-days, Tracy loves life—and what she does for a living. “When I can transform someone, I get happy tears,” she says. Her star clients include, but are not limited to: Jennifer Lopez, supermodel Gisele Bündchen and Blue Ivy Carter’s, “Auntie G,” a.k.a Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jay-Z is at it again. The music sensation adored by many has something new to sing about—and he is. Not even a week after the birth of his first child with his better half, Beyoncé, Jay-Z released a song that has already become a viral sensation. Blue Ivy Carter, born on January 7th, 2012 was, as quoted by Jay-Z in his new song Glory, his greatest creation: “The most amazing feeling I feel/ Words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real/ Maybe I paint the sky blue/ My greatest creation was you. You. Glory.” At a mere 5 days old, USA TODAY has said it perfectly, “Blue is probably cooler than you,” here’s why:

Big News Hit Hollywood Yesterday: Molly Sims Is Expecting

Molly Sims and Scott Stuber, the recently married duo has another reason to celebrate their lives together—a baby is on the way! Yesterday, January 10th, 2012, Sims announced that she was pregnant. The model/actress and her husband will be expecting the arrival of their new addition by the end of June! The honeymoon baby has the couple ecstatic for the upcoming months. Sims told PEOPLE, “I am absolutely, positively, downright over the moon to announce that we are pregnant! There are simply no words to describe the feeling … I finally get what they mean when they say pregnant women GLOW,” she said.

Sims also told PEOPLE about the unique approach she took to inform Stuber that he was going to be a father—though food. “I hijacked the fortune cookie and typed a new message so that when he opened his cookie at the end of the meal, he found out he was going to be a daddy,” now if that isn’t clever, what is? She admitted that the meal was hard to get through; eating only a few bites, but the look on his face was absolutely priceless.

Loeb and Hershkovitz: Expecting Baby No. 2!

Lisa Loeb can add mommy-to-two to her list of credentials ranging from singer-songwriter and actress to the founder of her very own eye wear collection as of 2010. The 43-year-old mommy-to-be told PEOPLE that she is excited for her daughter Lyla Rose, 2, to have a sibling– “I grew up with a big family,” she said.

The singer/author and husband Roey Hershkovitz, music production supervisor for Conan, will welcome their second child this coming June, her rep. confirmed to PEOPLE. But the balance of work and parenthood can sometimes be challenging as Loeb explains. “It’s a little bit of a challenge to try to balance my work with my family, but my family comes first,” she said.

Loeb and Hershkovitz tied the knot on January 31st, 2009 and gave birth to their first child Lyla on November 29th of 2009.

The best of luck goes out to the couple throughout the pregnancy!

Weekend Rewind: Blue Ivy is Finally Here!

Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl to the world this weekend!

The hot duo announced that they were expecting in the most shocking way when Beyoncé, 30, revealed her belly at MTV’s Video Music Awards in August of 2011. During her performance of “Love on Top” she ended with “Feel the love that’s growing inside of me” right before she opened her blazer to expose that she was expecting. In the audience, fans and friends cheered and congratulated hubby Jay-Z who could not seem to wipe the smile off of his face.

Blue Ivy Carter was the talk of the town as Tweets poured in from fans and celebrities across the world. A few to congratulate the couple were Rihanna, Russell Simmons, and Gwyneth Paltrow who tweeted “Welcome to the world, Blue. We love you already.”

Now that she is here, people everywhere have asked, “Why did the two choose Blue Ivy as their daughter’s name?” According to a GMA exclusive, the name ‘Blue’ comes from Jay-Z’s favorite color and ‘Ivy’ comes from the significance of the number 4 (IV) in roman numerals. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were born September 4th and December 4th and married on April 4th. Beyoncé’s latest album was also entitled ‘4.’

Observers at the NYC Lenox Hill Hospital reported to US Weekly that Jay-Z looked awfully happy walking through the halls of the 1.3 million dollar reserved floor of the hospital on Saturday morning. Beyoncé’s family was also spotted on the floor with pink balloons, flowers, and silver and black ribbons. 

Congratulations to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for welcoming a healthy baby girl into their family.

Nick Cannon will be Okay

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon had quite a scare over the holidays. While vacationing in Aspen, Colorado with their beautiful twins, Cannon began to experience signs of kidney failure and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors described the condition as “acute kidney failure” which is a silent disease that often accompanies other disorders such as diabetes, heart disease, and anemia.

Dr. Madeleine Pahl, chief of nephrology at UC Irvine Medical Center and a specialist in kidney disorders says, “Almost every organ in your body, every system is affected,” she said.  “So you are retaining fluid and you might swell.” This did not stop Carey from hopping into bed with her love and snuggling up by his side.

Although he’s on his way to recovery, Carey asks fans to “please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful.”
